The European open qualifier for DreamHack Masters Spring has reached the best-of-three stages after an eventful day that saw plenty of upsets.
Sprout and MIBR were among the first big names to exit the tournament followings a defeat in the third round of the bracket. Winstrike, Dignitas, ENCE and EXTREMUM could not make it past the fourth round, with fnatic, the No.1 seed of the qualifier, crashing out in the fifth round following a surprise loss to GROND.

The final best-of-one round saw one game cancelled as IQUE were disqualified due to fielding a player, 14-year-old Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo, who does not meet the tournament's age requirement.
Movistar Riders are now the only team inside the top 30 still alive in the tournament following SINNERS' elimination in the Round of 16 by Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev's K23. The qualifier will resume on Friday at 18:00 with the quarter-final matches, which will determine the four teams joining HEROIC, Cloud9, Complexity and OG in the closed bracket.
